Who we are

Marino & Co provides short-stay hosting and long-term lettings management for homes in prime central London. For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), Marino & Co is the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry, we collect the details you choose to give us: your name, email address, phone number, property location and type, the service you're interested in and your message.

When you email, call or message us on social media, we keep a record of that correspondence.

Our website hosting records basic technical information, such as pages viewed, browser and device type and approximate country, to help us understand how the site is used. This is not used to identify you personally.

How we use it

To reply to your enquiry and discuss whether our service suits your property (our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us).

To provide our services if we go on to work together (performance of a contract).

To keep records we're legally required to hold, such as for tax and accounting (legal obligation).

We will not use your details for marketing unless you have asked us to, and we never sell your information.

Who we share it with

We only share personal information with trusted providers who help us run the business, such as our website host and email delivery service, and only as far as needed. They act on our instructions and must keep your information secure.

We may also share information where required by law, or with professional advisers such as accountants or solicitors.

Some of these providers may store data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK law.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't lead to working together are kept for up to [24 months] and then deleted. Client records are kept for as long as we work together and for up to [6 years] afterwards, to meet legal and accounting requirements.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy to pass to someone else. To make a request, email us and we'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
